Accounting Technician- Premium Accounting

Ideal candidate is highly motivated, should possess basic knowledge of accounting, customer service, and must be analytical and detail oriented. Recommended: Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and strong communication skills a plus.

Job duties may include processing premium payments (200-300 day), assisting customer services calls regarding invoices/payment questions, and researching billing issues and resolving account discrepancies by investigating documentation. Customer Service Response Center

Receptionist/Operator

Contributes significantly in routing calls to appropriate department or to the automated system. Delivers friendly and courteous service to producers, insured’s, and Company staff. Serves as first line contact and access the caller’s needs in order to transfer calls to the appropriate person or department. Assists in processing address changes and returned mail in accordance to the Company procedures. Makes suggestions for improving processes and procedures. Identifies and reports rating and data errors as well as agency trends regarding risk acceptability.

Requires strong customer service and problem solving skills. Quality and attention to detail. Accountability, interpersonal skills, and computer proficiency. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Customer Service Representative

Contributes significantly to the team goal and delivers friendly, knowledgeable service to both internal and external customers. Answers the phone in accordance with Company procedures. With a smile in the voice, assists external customers with their customer service issues. For simple questions, encourages callers to use the automated telephone system, Company manual or web site. Assists with the processing the suspense list in accordance with Company procedures. Makes suggestions for improving processes and procedures.

Requirements include excellent telephone skills. Knowledge of insurance coverage’s preferred. Computer literate and knowledge of the AS-400 system preferred. Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Auto Underwriting

Auto Endorsement/Imaging Supervisor

Demonstrates understanding and utilizes a variety of effective leadership and management philosophies, techniques and practices. Recognizes the importance of a team effort in meeting Company targets and goals and enthusiastically and actively participates as a team player. Encourages team to the achievement of service standard objective of endorsement processing in three days. Enforces all underwriting guidelines as outlined in the producer manual and underwriting bulletins. Ability to communicate team issues to the marketing department to achieve company goals and objectives. Monitors applications and producers to spot trends that could be negative for the loss ratio. Writes clear underwriting notes for senior managers and auditors.

Requirements include good leadership skills, Good analytical skills and business judgment, 2-3 years insurance experience, Courses for IIA preferred. Bi-lingual strongly preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Prior supervisory or management skills preferred.

Auto/ New Business Underwriter

Underwrites automobile insurance applications in accordance with company standards. Contributes to the company’s overall loss ratio objective through adherence to solid underwriting fundamentals. Contributes to the achievement of service standard objective. Enforces all underwriting guidelines as outlined in the producer manual and underwriting bulletins. Monitors applications and producers to spot trends that could be negative for the loss ratio. Writes clear underwriting notes for manager and auditors.

Requires good analytical skills and business judgment. 2-3 years insurance experience. Bi-lingual strongly preferred. Proficient in Word and Excel.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Auto Endorsement Underwriter

Reviews automobile endorsement/changes to evaluate, classify and rate policies based on Company guidelines. Enforces all underwriting guidelines as outlined in the producer manual and underwriting bulletins. Identifies agency issues and trends and communicate them to the management team to achieve Company goals and objectives. Resolves complaints from producers and insured’s in a professional manner and refers those who need additional assistance to the appropriate person or department.

Requirements include good analytical skills and business judgment, high level of accuracy and organizational skills. Insurance experience preferred. Must be proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Two years college education or one to two years related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to complete forms, reports and paperwork legibly and accurately and turned in within required time frames. Ability to write clear and concise underwriting notes and letters. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Homeowners Underwriter

Determines appropriate policy rate based on merits of the risk. Determines risk acceptability for new and renewal business according to the company guidelines, underwriting standards and regulatory compliance. Corresponds with brokers regarding required documentation and underwriting determinations. Participates in agency evaluations and underwriting/sales call programs. Serves as a resource to other departments regarding underwriting questions, concerns and philosophies. Manages a book of business by following company philosophy, strategy, marketing plan and underwriting standards. Has the ability to develop a business relationship with brokers to promote company sales.

Requirements include strong analytical skills and business judgment. Basic knowledge of insurance products, coverage and underwriting practices. Aptitude to learn negotiation and influence management. High Level of accuracy and detail oriented skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Prior property/homeowners underwriting experience preferred.

HO Administrative Assistant

Enters New Business Policies in computer database. Orders Reports and operate a range of office machines such as photocopiers and facsimile machines. Sorts and distributes incoming mail. Files correspondence and documents as necessary. Maintains minimum production and quality goal in all areas. Performs a range of administrative tasks as assigned.

Requires the ability to work accurately and neatly, good organizational skills, ability to perform tasks in a timely manner, ability to work independently with minimal supervision. ability to type approximately 40-60 wpm, and good verbal and written communication skills

Mailroom Clerk

Responsibilities may include sorting and distributing mail. Processing bulk and first class mailings. Assembling manuals and mailing materials and copying. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications include a successful work history, the ability to handle mail with speed and accuracy, some experience with operation of high volume copiers, must be organized/dependable, and have a positive, energetic work attitude.

Mailroom Supervisor

RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide leadership and direction to mailroom staff to ensure all in-bound and out-bound mail is processed accurately and in a timely manner and that the mail-related needs of the agency are met. Set priorities and work schedule for mailroom staff. Draft policies and procedures; train mailroom staff on processes and procedures. Monitor and ensure quality control on mailing projects; train and supervise staff on processing of incoming mail. Communicate with internal employees to understand and implement mail requests Ensure that daily, weekly, and monthly reports are accurately produced and completed within the designated timeframe. Provide leadership to mailroom staff to operate and maintain mailroom equipment, including postage machine, electronic folder and inserter. Provide training and oversight to all key mailroom staff to maintain a safe, efficient, organized, and clean work environment. Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS: Some college preferred. Minimum of 2 years verifiable supervisory experience required. Minimum of 2 years mailroom operations experience required. Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Must be able to write clearly. Ability to speak effectively before employees of the organization, write reports, correspondences, and policies and procedures. Proficiency with Microsoft products: Excel, Word, and Outlook. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; also ability to compute rate, ratio and percentage.
